The search for a good webmaster is over, maybe
August 4, 1999
It's been a while (a very long while) since I wrote to you guys from this
Web site as an actual human being. It seems that as soon as I bought the
domain, the site lost all personal touch and sense of community. Which
isn't to say that Aphex Start was ever that much of a community site, but
I feel I've distanced myself from all of you, the visitors, too much. I also want to include you all more in the upkeep of the site because you may have noticed, I'm very lazy and don't do that good of a job at it. That's where the sense of community comes in. I'm opening up the news articles for anyone to write. Send mail to news@aphextwin.org if you would like a news item published. You will get full credit for your work (unless you don't want to), and everyone will love you. Articles submitted will be subject to editing, but I will try as hard as I can to leave them in their original form. As I mentioned earlier, I'm terribly lazy, so don't expect me to edit them that much. I don't want to bother with it. The reason I think this will work better than the current feedback form is that it won't require me to write a news item for information sent in. So instead of getting an email that says, "Aphex Twin is living in my basement," and trying to write a whole news item about it, you will write a whole article about it and I'll just post it here. It will add diversity (I think). That's what I mean by "the search for a good webmaster is over." The combination of the work of all of you visitors is much greater than the work I can do all by myself. Especially considering I'm not home that much. We'll see how it ends up working out, but I have high hopes for this plan. Khad Young
