Money Makes The World Go 'Round
Yes, indeed, even the most die-hard artists can't really make music just to make
music. Sorry kids, there's money to be made. And where there's money to be made,
there you will find record companies. Some have much more integrity than others,
though, and those are the ones you'll find here. At least, they signed Richard
at one time or another. Maybe that means they have no taste.
We Are Reasonable People
The first place to head in your record label tour should definitely be Warp Records. They are a very good resource
for Aphex Twin news, always updated. You'll find images, audio clips, video
clips, and the Aphex Twin WarpFile. WarpComm has some interesting conversation
most of the time, and the site is home to the WarpMart purchasing center.
Rave Data And More
The label that Richard co-owns with Grant Wilson-Claridge has its own Web site.
Rephlex Records sports a full Rephlex roster
along with a discography, release information, and tips for finding stores and
music. You'll also find the latest scoop on Rephresh and other nights of music
and madness.
US Distribution
The main US distributor for Aphex Twin has only recently gotten into the
online scene. Sire Records will
be hosting the "Windowlicker" video when the single is released, but right
now, information and content is sparse. There is a SampleStation for listening,
SireTV for viewing, and an interesting Demo Reel to keep you busy.
Ah, The Classics
R & S Records has little bit of album
information regarding the albums that they distribute (mainly Classics).
There are also RealAudio clips of the entire Classics album. Sparse, but
they actually updated their site in the past year.
Another US Distributor?
The AFX Analogue Bubblebath 1 was first released on CD and first
in the US on TVT Records. They
also distributed Surfing On Sine Waves and Quoth in the US.
There is online ordering available, but the prices are nothing to go
crazy about.
Something To Smile About
Have a link to basically the exact same site as TVT since WaxTrax! Records is a subsidiary
of TVT. This link is completely worthless, on top of the fact that the TVT link
is already worthless. That makes this link doubly worthless. It's simply included
here for posterity.
